Providence Public School students in grades 6 and 7 will have fun learning how to make videos while exploring Rocketry, Engineering, GPS, Solar Energy and Technology in a FREE, one-week summer science camp running from Monday, August 2 through Thursday, August 5.
In this action-packed program presented by Inspiring Minds (the new name for VIPS: Volunteers In Providence Schools) in partnership with the University of Rhode Island, College of Environment and Life Sciences kids will play the roles of producer, director and more, as they perform many of the steps it takes to get a movie made, such as coming up with a story, designing a story board and shooting footage.
As they work in teams to create their videos, youngsters will also enjoy outdoor activities, games and other fun projects as they learn about science and develop skills that will help them in school.
At the end of the week, participants will have made short videos that they will premier along with examples of their science creations on August 5 at Parents Night.
The Camp runs August 2 5, from 9:00 AM 2:00 PM, at Inspiring Minds, 905 Westminster Street, Providence.
