  • KIDS CONTEST: WRITE A SUMMER VIDEO BOOK REVIEW

Selected Video Contributors Will Receive $25.00 Book Store Gift Certificates

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 21, 2010) -- School doors are now closed for the summer, but that doesn't mean kids should shut their books. The Big Apple Book Club is looking for children ages 5-12 to submit video reviews of their favorite summer books. The Big Apple Book Club, which provides book reviews by kids for kids, is sponsored by Meet Me At The Corner (MeetMeAtTheCorner.org), the Web site that sends kids on virtual field trips.

New book reviews will be added to MeetMeAtTheCorner.org every Monday through July and August, 2010. If your young reader's book review is selected, he/she will receive a $25.00 gift certificate to purchase more books for their growing library.

Complete information on how to write a 60-second book review, including filming techniques, lighting suggestions and camera set-up, can be found at MeetMeAtTheCorner.org's "How to Make a Video Book Review" pod cast.

Final DVS tapes or CDs can be mailed to Meet Me At The Corner's "Big Apple Book Club," 20 West Del Norte St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907-7337. All submissions are the property of Meet Me At The Corner and will not be returned.

"Kids are bombarded with school reading lists and book suggestions from parents and librarians. The Big Apple Book Club is a great way for kids to provide peer-to-peer reviews of their favorite summer books and share them via media they are comfortable with, video pod cast technology," said Donna Guthrie, founder of MeetMeAtTheCorner.org.
