  • URBAN LEAGUE OF RHODE ISLAND WOMEN IN CHARGE

    Providence, RI  Women In Charge is seeking nominations from the community for its 2nd Annual Woman of the Year Award to be conferred on March 20, 2010. WIC Annual Women of the Year Award was created to honor Rhode Island women who have contributed significantly to empower other women, children and families in our community. We recognize and celebrate the contributions that these women make. Many of them have overcome barriers and obstacles themselves to achieve personal success.

    If you know a Rhode Island woman who empowers you and others to achieve success, please send a letter of nomination to the WIC Committee explaining what makes this woman a Woman of the Year.

    The Mission of Women In Charge is to support and empower women, regardless of race, socio-economic status or cultural background through leadership training, open dialogue and networking.


    Nominations should include: name of individual, work or profession (if applicable), reason for nomination, contributions made to empower and/or improve the lives of other women, children and families. Please include nominees contact information and the name and daytime phone of the person submitting the nomination.

    Letters of nomination must be submitted to the address below no later than
    March 01, 2010:
