PROVIDENCE, RI -- Confused by Computers? Wound up by Word? Exacerbated by Excel? Then it is time for you to call Providence Public Library (PPL) and sign up for a FREE computer class. The Library offers 22 free classes each month on a wide range of computer and technology topics &from the basics of using a computer to how to sell on eBay. These free classes* are open to all.

Basic and advanced classes in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will help you succeed in your current job and could even help you get a new position. What classes to take and how many are up to you. Computer learners come with all levels of ability and interests, some seeking necessary computer and technology skills in order to prepare themselves for new jobs, said Shane Sher, the Librarys popular computer trainer and Technology & Web blogger.

All sessions are one to two hours long and many are repeated often to enable learners to advance at their own pace. These really are the best, most efficient computer classes I have ever come across, entertaining too, said recent class participant Ellen Ferrin.
